Scytalidium mainly affects people in the tropics, though it persists if they later move to areas of temperate climate.

Other molds more commonly affect people older than 60 years, and their presce in the nail reflects a slight weaking in the nail's ability to defd itself against fungal invasion.

The cost of efinaconazole treatmt can be reduced to $65 per 1-month dose using drug coupons, bringing the treatmt cost to $715 per nail.
